How ridiculous do you sound??? Good people fall on hard times without warning and not due to any fault of their own sometimes. How can you write that statement. If a bill collector called and professionally spoke to you, this would be a non-issue. However, they DO NOT speak to you in a professional manner. Instead they barade and disrespect you and I don't know many people who will accept that type of behavior from anyone. I agree with this. Why do people buy other debts and expect to collect on them. The ones who are truly owed the debt should be the ones going after people, I don't have a past due bill of any kind!

These a**holes called me looking for someone in my neighborhood. We are a business, and I flatly asked after a while "So, you're randomly calling and harassing businesses in the area of this person you're looking for to collect a debt?!", and he replied yes and hung up.Hey um SUSAN! People's financial circumstances change, but their debt does not, apart from going up and up and up from bogus interest and 'service' fees. You, Susan, are obviously a product of the Public Education System, taught to take orders, fill in forms and punch the clock without question or problem solving skills. You must pay EVERY nickel of your taxes, too, without even TRYING to find a deduction or two. Again, peoples circumstances change due to factors beyond their control, but their debt stays the same, or, more likely, continues to go up even though they haven't bought anything more than their original purchases. Do a little logical thinking sweetheart [can I call you sweetheart?] and stop blaming & defaming ordinary folks who cant help their circumstances. Can you say 'LOGICAL FALACY'? Shame on you-ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-60260116862835415422011-08-06T09:04:00.001-07:002011-08-06T09:04:52.594-07:00630-869-6899630-869-6899
I have a better idea. Use SKYPE to call them back, at the same # they call you, 20-30 times a day. When you'll dial from your comp using SKYPE, it'll show the word "unavailable" .Then you can tell them what you thinking about them and all the "proper" words they deserve for bugging you for so long !!!These people are harrassing me as well for my step mother who lives in a completely different state. The guy was extremely rude and said, "If your step mother would start acting like an adult and call us back then we wouldn't have to call you." She is in her 60's. I told them that they were rude and no wonder she doesn't call you back. He was threatening to call an attorney I told him to go ahead. I asked him if he liked being called at home at 9:00 at night, and he said no. So I told him to stop calling me. I don't even have any business with them.Did any of you ever think that these collectors are simply doing their jobs? Some of you truly owe a past-due bill, so deal with it. Stop looking for a way out and own up to your obligations. I am sick and tired of hearing how bad bill collectors are because they are asking people to simply pay the debts that they originally signed up for. This is why some of you are debtors...you could be spending this time on making some money to get yourselves out of the mess you created. Instead you hang out on the internt and bash companies because they had the "nerve" to try to collect a bill that you racked up in the first place!

For those of you who don't owe anything and the calls were made in error..ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-59372555592228088002011-08-06T09:03:00.001-07:002011-08-06T09:03:06.135-07:00312-447-2370312-447-2370

Use the call forwarding feature on your phone - and forward the calls to a telephone number that you know is disconnected. They will stop calling because the computer they are using to dial the number will recognize the tone.

This works for all of these types of calls.
NEVER EVER ADMIT A DEBT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VALIDATING YOU ARE THE CORRECT PERSON THAT OWES THE DEBT. The worst agencies and scammers will refuse to do debt validation. Why do you even waste your time answering these creeps. I let all of my phone calls go to the answering machine. I also have caller i d and if it is not someone I know personally I let them talk to the machine. Wise up people. We get calls for someone that hasn't had thhis phone number for over 20 years. When you complain or deny you get more calls. You need to stop calling them back. They are a debt collector who will do anything to get your personal information. Every time you call them, your number is displayed and they will keep hounding you as someone they believe owes a creditor money. Simply refuse the call. Let it go to voicemail. Hang up on them. Do not continue to have any communication with them.
Eventually, you can unforward them because they will have stopped calling.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-45599098399405189592011-08-06T09:00:00.001-07:002011-08-06T09:00:50.299-07:00888-441-5024888-441-5024
Practically the same thing has happened to me. They've been calling my cell phone for these past 3 days. And I'm under 18... They keep asking me if they could speak to a person who's name I did not recognize. That one woman who called you... May be the same woman who called me. She asked to speak at an adult who owns the house & saying that that person who I could not recognize lives here.... This woman happened to call on a private number but a second number appeared on my cell phone, asking for that same person. My ex-father-in-law is receiving these call. I did have an outstanding bill and have spoke to them about it. I asked to please mail me the bill so I could take care of it. I was told I had to make a payment right then and there and that would not mail me anything. They also told me that the interest was 50% of what the original bill was and the payment they wanted only $4 of it would go towards the bill! Problem is I had moved and put in a change of address to the company I had the bill with. It was a 6 mo same as cash thing and then after the six mo period when the bill was returned to them, because they say they never got a change of address (which I went in the store in person to do...big mistake I guess) they sold the bill to this place. Anyway.........my father-in-law is 87 yrs old and not in good health. They continually harrass him. I just don't know how to get it to stop. They are very nasty and rude and mean on the phone, not to him, but when I have spoke to them. If they would only send me the bill stating the amount, so we could work this out that woould be nice. But I will be damned if I am just gonna make a payment over the phone to who knows who! AND....the interest keeps going up, way up every month.
Well to say the least I am totally upset on what and how to handle this situation. I want to pay back what I did originally owe and if there is to be interest at a reasonable rate. Otherwise, it looks like these people are just not going to get a dime from me. I am not a bad person and being treated like this is terrible. Any suggestions anyone? Thank you in advance..ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-76747207587247053832011-08-06T08:58:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:58:38.535-07:00313-334-3474313-334-3474
Well, this guy called my cell asking for my daughter, but he did not know this. I told him this is now my cell and he harassed me asking if I know her or knew where she was. I told him if he told me what it was about and he said it was private so I told him if I know where she was, it was also private and not to call me again... Within seconds he called my office... I told him to remove both numbers and he hung up with a smart a** remark... Problem is he will not tell you where he is calling from so you cannot get an address....
Good luck to all!!!calling your friends and neighbors are illegal. Also, if they call you at work, tell them DON'T call at work and send them a certified letter stating that. It is not only illegal, but if they are crossing state lines with their calls it is a federal law. Also, if you tell them not to call you at work and they continue to do so, that is illegal. Oh many problems with Michael Bell.I must have talked to this Bell guy. I asked him if he was awake yet as he sounded like he either just got up or had a hangover. He asked me if I drank to much coffee this morning. I told him to Fxxx Oxxxxf and hung up. They are calling my 11 year olds phone from a former customer that had that number. They just don't get it.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-24858778562894576322011-08-06T08:57:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:57:14.254-07:00312-878-5530312-878-5530
Yes, Heather, it is legal. It is called "skip-tracing". They cannot call you more than once though. The purpose of their call is to verify that the person they are trying to reach still lives at the address they have on file. They have probably tried calling this person multiple times and have had no luck. I would suggest if they call again, that you tell them you know they are only allowed one phone call to you and if they persist in these annoying phone calls; you will call an attorney and sue them for harassment. Keep in mind, you don't have to actually call an attorney but you can always threaten it! They use idle threats all the time so you may as well throw it back at them. HAHAHA! Good luck. I hope this info has helped you somewhat.Someone from this company called my father today, looking for me. He asked them how they got his number and the person told him they can pull up phone numbers by address and since his phone number is listed on my address they called him.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-44795307112969672202011-08-06T08:50:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:50:04.180-07:00202-234-3930202-234-3930
You are wrong. They can do alot more. You do have a point on having a right to send them a Cease & Decist letter. They can call your neighbor, family members etc; they do not have a right to disclose though. Trust me, i did collections for a living for a few years. You are wrong. They can do alot more. You do have a point on having a right to send them a Cease & Decist letter. They can call your neighbor, family members etc; they do not have a right to disclose though. Trust me, i did collections for a living for a few years. But if they mention who they are people will know it is regarding a debt. It is illegal. If they cross state lines it is even more illegal and they can be arrested. I had to deal with Micheal Bell regarding a debt of my daughter's that I knew nothing about. He kept calling me at work and he would yell and swear. He should be fired. I was never so humilated in my life. He got ahold of my daughter at her job and made her cry. Calling at work is an illegal practice too
You have a right to stop the calls. Tell your neighbor a lie (that you are a victim of identity theft and refuse to pay the bill; tell your neighbor to tell the bill collectors NEVER to call you again) that way they never call your neighbor again.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-83714052491492585932011-08-06T08:48:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:48:21.990-07:00877-244-9727877-244-9727
SO NOT TRUE...they still will continue to call! My parents receive many calls because of me & they call them non-stop even after telling them they don't know such a person. My dad was on his death bed, being harrased by these phone calls sometimes a few calls an hour til his passing and now my mother receives them! Not only do they not listen, they are extremely rude! Harrasement needs to STOP!Jen, they are only allowed to contact a third party ONCE and that is it. Otherwise, that is harassment. Also, they are allowed to call your job UNLESS you tell them they cannot and you have to also send them a letter stating that you do not want them to call your work EVER. If they do not receive this letter, they can continue to call your place of work. You must be the Michael Bell people are discribing. Which means you are a loser for being a bill collector. I picture you as a short, fat, bald headed, very ugly person that is angry at the world so you take a job where you can scream and yell and pester people. It makes you feel big. Have you ever heard the saying "You can catch more flies with honey"? It means if you are actually nice to people then they won't be so scared to talk to you, being the bill collector. You don't have any idea what the situation is the person you are harrassing may be in, and more than likely, you don't care. But I do believe in Karma-what comes around goes around. I believe all arrogant bill collectors will get what is due them.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-81354469036676818202011-08-06T08:47:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:47:22.397-07:00877-895-9798877-895-9798
I have one calling my number for someone who had the phone number before me - 4 years ago. I have explained 20 times that the person they seek does not live here and it has not helped a bit. I just stop answering the phone. All my friends know to leave a message as well as the businesses I want to hear from.
If you have a droid cell phone there are many apps to block such calls. I constantly use one. If you are not listed on my contacts list, the blocker will hangup on them and they will get sound that the call cannot be completed. Of course, they try different tactics, such as changing numbers, etc., but the blocker works. We are currently going through litigation, and they have been sent notices to stop calling us, but of course they continue, so we just block them. Never even know they call, because the phone never rings.don't need a fancy droid phone. i have a call reject list on my ancient low tech cell phone. they call once, if i don't want to hear from them again, i add their number to the reject list. of course, they can use diff numbers, but each number only works onceffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-33610956595393577232011-08-06T08:45:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:45:53.997-07:00866-570-5277866-570-5277
They called my work - the phone number they have for work rings right to my desk... didn't ask for me, but left some 1/2 message (sounded like they were talking to another customer on the phone - not my VM. and the next day, they called my house... left NO message... Checked our paperwork.. Sure enough, our mortgage is through these clowns. - my phone numbers are the only ones listed. (W & H) IDK how long we've been paying them - but, in the past 5 years - we've never missed a payment - never been late... now they calling - why? why why why .. and why are they an 866 number?? it's even listed on their statement as an 866 number. .. I never answer 866 or any number similar to that - or if it says UNKNOWN Caller. Our last two transactions for oct and nov are posted on the statement and cleared.they just want to say "hello", and then try to get as much personal and financial information as possible. They are told not to leave any kind of message.first of all, it is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and they can call the relatives until the relatives request that they do not call again. It is not against the FDCPA to call a neighbor. It is against the law for a collector to call the neighbor and talk about the debt. They can only discuss the debt with the debtor. Again, unless they are told by the relative, neighbor, or any other third party, (your job), not to call again, they can call.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-60981479386773316082011-08-06T08:43:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:43:28.555-07:00832-380-8272832-380-8272
continued....This is insanity! Since I live in an area where property prices have plummeted and there are numerous foreclosures, companies like Chase dumped our loans to a shaddy company like LBPS, which is pushing loan modifications approved by our government. The loan modification program directed by the government is a hoax, along with the financial institutions to implement the largest property grab in history. I have spoken to a Real Estate agent in my city and she told me that she knows numerous people in our area who are having problems with LBPS.I know you shouldn't have to... but I would call your insurance agent and have them send LBPS the info. If not, they may try to force-place. Watch them carefully... they are out to generate fees every which way... they used to be a notorious servicer called "Wilshire Credit".If anyone has any questions on where to email or where to call and how to get around the reps that act as gate keepers let me know I still know some of the secrets there.I just got a call from this number today, the called was looking for me however would not provide a name and was VERY WEIRD. I did not tell them who i was and started asking the caller information which they would ONLY provide to the person with my name. I was not going to give them anything about who i was untill i got some info from them. They did not want to provide who they were, why they were calling or from what compoany so i hung up on them. Did a reverse search online that said the number is UPS tracking company number for packages.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-65227256945499136452011-08-06T08:08:00.001-07:002011-08-06T08:08:47.262-07:00555-555-1212555-555-1212
Once I saw "Tollfree Number" on the caller ID, I knew not to answer it. No call from any "Tollfree Number" has ever been someone our business needs to talk to.
They left the same message as above on our voicemail: "Someone has given your business a rating! Go to merchantcircle.com and enter your phone number in the blue box to view this rating!"
I wouldn't dare go to their scammy website - who knows what viruses, spyware, etc. could be lurking there. And I'm certainly not calling them back - they'll probably just note that there is a responsive human at this phone number and continue to call or sell the number to other stupid scams. I will continue to screen "Tollfree Number" on the caller ID in the hopes that they'll give up and quit calling. I am absolutely fed up with time-wasting, illegal scams like these!Just received a call from this number. They called our business line. Told me that we had a favorable rating from one of our customers through a report filed with merchantcircle.com. I have never heard of them. They asked me to log on to above cite to retrieve the information. I just don't see that happening! Who are these people? I read some of the other comments...we have never had a Macy's card. Oh well.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-17706791728492502372011-08-06T08:07:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:07:49.878-07:00406-224-9078406-224-9078
I got a call from this number today (866)849-3243. It was not Macy's or any other collection agency.
according to the robot that spoke when I answered. The message said that my business (I own a small business) had received a review from a customer at merchantcircle.com and to go there if I wanted to see the review. Of coarse I want to see the review! I went and there were no reviews. They just wanted me to sign up and pay them to advertise. I DO NOT appreciate this sales tactic. I looked all over the website for a contact # but found none, and I'm not emailing. I don't need any more spam. I called the number back and got a recording. No chance to talk to a person or leave a message.Just received a call from these people (automated). Merchant Circle is the name of the company, and they do that bogus "you just got a rating from a customer" crap. What it really is, is an attempt to get you to sign up for their ridiculous service. We have never been listed with them, ever.

I called back and got an automated message answering service, which had directions for removing one's phone number from their 'to call' list. Note that you must call back from the same line that they called you on, otherwise that phone number will not be removed.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-74322006300535511402011-08-06T08:06:00.000-07:002011-08-06T08:06:36.179-07:00954-472-0141954-472-0141
Received a call from this number today!! I am on a do not call list!! I have read the other notes about this number. I do not, nor have I ever had a Macy's card. Since I did not answer this call, I do not know what it was about. I am tired of telemarketers calling a number that is on a do not call list.Received a call from this number today!! called my cell phone at 4:10am then again at 10:26am, finally answered and automated said it was from merchant circle, who ever the heck they are. I thought solicitors could not call cell phones.Called me once, didn't answer, looked up the number here. I just charged something big on my Macy's card and based on the previous comments, I was like, overdue already????? Called me again 5 minutes later, decided to pick it up, and...got a recorded message from KWJZ FM (radio station) thanking me for being a listener and directing me to go to their website to enter some kind of contest. I don't know how they got my number. It's my work number, so my predecessor must have registered this #. Yeah, it's a nuisance, but I'll take that over Macy's anytime...
Based on reading all the other calls people are getting from this phone number I see that it is a scam! They need to be reported to the FCC from everybody.
I have received calls from this number for the past 3 days. It is a recorded message saying they are from Macy's about a personal business matter. The number is &*%^$%#^# (I can't understand what they are saying).

I called the number back and I got a recording saying, "If you are calling this number because you missed our call, please hang up. We will call you back."
Received several calls from this #. Leaves a message about women for politics, but they don't endorse anyone, except another voice comes on and it is in support of Sen. Clinton. Have received this call 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Called # and you can have your phone # removed. It is a call center. Have to listen to the prompts.
I called Macy's and they don't know what it's about. My account is up to date. I don't owe anything. She said Macy's is calling customers to see if they want the Macy's Visa. I don't think that's it.
3 calls received on my business line from 9:15 to 10:14 AM. I do not have a Macy's card so I do not know why I was being called from this agency. I have called the number listed earlier in this thread (866-793-7480) and successfully removed my number. We shall see if I really stop getting calls from this number.Automated call reminding me to vote for a certain candidate. It's 12 days to Primary day here in PA. This number calls every other day.
Yesterday, they didn't leave a message on the machine. Today they did. I'm not answering and if they keep calling, I'm calling my phone company.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-33644628133975383362011-08-06T07:21:00.000-07:002011-08-06T07:21:42.473-07:00866-396-7770866-396-7770
These people have called ten times from 6:21 p.m. to 6:55 p.m. I HAD a Macy's card years ago. I paid the thing off and have NEVER used it since. I am glad to know who this annoying number belongs too. Who do you turn them over to? We have this number on the national no call list PLUS this number that they are calling was NEVER attached to the Macy's card when we had it.There was a wait before a man came on the line and said "hello". I said "hello" again and he repeated it. It sounded like my brother and I asked, "Bill"? He said "Who do you think?" In the background somebody was ordering a sandwich/hot dog...I heard them ask for onions and sourkraut. I told him that he could tell me who it was or I would hang up. Like someone said, apparently this is a company who is making calls for lots of other companies. I just got a call from the number in response to a job I applied for with Kellogg. It might be hard to get them in trouble, since some of the calls they're making are actually legit.I called back this number and if you stay on the line a recording comes on that asks if you would like your number blocked, when choosing 1 for yes, it will reply with the number you are calling from. It states the block will take place in one business day. We will see...ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-11227914845214379272011-08-06T07:20:00.000-07:002011-08-06T07:20:36.054-07:00213-330-2890213-330-2890
received 2 calls we answered the first one there was nobody there and no noise, we listened for about 3 minutes nothing. We hung up. Not 3 minutes after hang up they called again and this time is was a political call about Mike Huckabee was going to be in Winchester, Virginia...... No way to tell them not to call here again ever.I receive an average of 3 messages a days that when played sound like a fax machine trying to send a fax to my number.
I got this call and it states it's for a political candidate (I forget their name). This phone number is being blocked thank you very much!
I received a call Wed. Feb. 27, 2008 about 12 noon PST.
The caller said they were a company that wanted me to advertize my business on Google.

My call is different from the above remarks. I don't have a "business". I figured it was some scammer or something. I have been on the "NO CALL" list since it's inception. I didn't listen long-enough to be more specific, but thought I'd share. I get really "ticked" when I am bothered by business callers.

I am on the west coast, never been in a Macy's store, and have never been late on anything, and RETIRED, so my call is different.
I beleive this to be another type of spam mail, this time over the fax.

The only way to be sure is to connect a fax machine on my line and wait and see what scans through.
Called this afternoon. 4:12 pm. Didn't answer because I do not know the number. Left a voicemail. It was a recording of Chuck Norris campaigning for Mike Huckabee.Called at 7:10pm, luckily Privacy Manager got to it first! It was a political call for John McCain. Seems as though since we switched phone companys and our phone # is no longer private we are getting political calls out the a$$!! This has got to stop! The phone number is Merchants Circle. They are a SCAM and should be put out of business. It is time to report them to the BBB and other agencies.
I know someone who has an attorney in Boston that is going to take legal action towards them and what they did to a business. The business has legal grounds. As far as that verification goes it is true they wanted toverify a Physician......hmmmmm Physicians and other licensed professional are not hard to verify. I think someone should verify Merchants circle. By the way they have 2 numbers that showed upon the caller IDffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-9595638769217255802011-08-06T07:18:00.000-07:002011-08-06T07:18:25.922-07:00415-366-0260415-366-0260
This is the weirdest thing I've ever heard! Got a call from this number this morning. Picked it up, said hello, heard myself saying "Hello" back. Said, "Yes?" Heard myself saying "Yes?" Said "Hello" again, heard myself saying "Hello" again. Everything I said was parroted back to me, in my own voice. It wasn't like an echo on the line - it was like my voice was being recorded and played back to me. Very disturbing! I tried calling the number back, got a recorded message saying, "You have reached the voice messaging center. If you're calling because you missed our call, please hang up. We'll call again later." They'd better be ready for an earful when they do!
I did the same thing. If you follow the message and push 1, and then verify your phone # then push 1 again...they promise to remove you from their list.Don't believe that they are going to remove you from their list. I am on a do not call list to begin with. I believe this is a scam and they have no interest in removing anybody. They called my house at 1:48pm Central time and left a message from "Mike Huckabee" asking for my vote. I guess political campagins don't have to abide by the do not call list either!ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-68911635937425971702011-08-06T07:16:00.000-07:002011-08-06T07:16:57.817-07:00512-692-9374512-692-9374
I received this call this morning around 10am saying that someone posted a comment on my business ad by searching Google and they wanted to notify me so I can take a look at it. Funny thing is I don't own a business or have ANY ads ANYWHERE! I've received 5 calls in the last 24 hours.. They always come about 5 minutes apart from each other, with no one there, and when i call the number it's busy
This # just called me. When I call back, it is busy, they left no message. Who are these people and how did they get my number?I got the same number calling me today around 2 in the afternoon. Unlike some other numbers, it did leave a voicemail on my phone. Rather than being from Macys as with some others, it was from the Red Cross asking me to donate.i was on my cell phone and it keep calling i tryed to switch over and it said sry this call was ment for a anser mach and then hung up before it called me i did not get to it and my cell made the i have a mess sond but no mess could it be a virse
I JUST GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND I DID NOT ANSWER IT BUT THEY LEFT NO MESSAGE EITHER BY THE WAY IT WAS AT 11:00 PM
GOT A CALL AT 12:20 AM WOKE UP THE WHOLE HOUSE. THESE ARE NOT BUSINESS HOURS. CALLS AT THIS TIME ARE USUALLY BAD NEWS. WE ARE ALSO ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE PROCECUTED!ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-68646708364402828842011-08-06T07:08:00.000-07:002011-08-06T07:08:36.152-07:00919-863-4968919-863-4968
oh my gosh i got the same exact call for the past couple of days. Saying too it was macys since i do have a acct. with them I was concerned called the number and it was nothing. Still very concern about everything I checked my acct and everything was good. They called so many time in the morning that I thought it was a serious issue, THanks nicky for this now I know not to call them back
My call went right into a recording saying someone had identified my company favorably on "merchant circle .com" and to go to that site and enter my phone number to see what they said. This is just like email spam, but by phone...! (I guess this is "convergence"...!) I didn't go to the site, rather reported to DoNotCall and came here. Glad I did. They keep at it and identify themselves differently over and over... weird and disturbing.I have read some of the other entries. Mine was an answering service, and referred me to other things. It finally hung up on me. Something needs to be done about these types of spam. I'd like to know why it can't be tracked and shut down so it doesn't irritate people. This number has been calling my phone twice or three times a day religiously for about two months now. No messages are ever left. The first phone call is usually around 8am. The phone calls stopped around the christmas holidays, and just when I thought I was free of it, I received a call on Jan 3rd...at least we know they celebrate the holidays!ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-50340884583293342162011-08-06T07:07:00.000-07:002011-08-06T07:07:15.224-07:00866-849-3243866-849-3243
So what is their purpose? I received a call also, couldn't answer. The vm simple said "thank you". So I returned the call. Same message stating they will call me back. What is their purpose and what do they gain from this????This number called my cell phone today. The pre-recorded voice told me to go to merchant circle dot com to see my business review online. Okay, I'll bite... unfortunately there was no information about my phone number like the voice told me there would be.I got a call from this number 866-849-3243. They stated my first name, middle initial and last name, said it was "not a solicitation" and then said they were calling from macys, asked me to call this number 18005113207. When I called that number, it didn't sound like the normal recording that I get when I call to check on my credit account, so i hung up. I looked up the number 800-511-3207 and found several postings from people saying that they rcvd a similar call and when they called that number someone asked them for their account number and the last four of their social security number??? Sounds pretty fishy.... I have decided not to answer ANY 800 # calls ever again, and ONLY to call the numbers displayed on my billing statements. I think it would be wise for everyone else to do the same.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-68691478592223043932011-08-06T07:05:00.000-07:002011-08-06T07:05:41.762-07:00999-999-9999999-999-9999
I just got a call from 866-849-3243. I did not answer. I think the reason they called me is that I looked up something on the internet about renting a car. I do not know how they got my phone number?I have been receiving calls - at work - from this number all week. The gentleman leaves a message and a cell phone number. I called him back once and got his voice mail. I asked that if he called again to please leave a message as to what the call is regarding. I get too many loonies calling and have to screen my calls. He has continues to call back several times and will not indicate why he's calling. When he called again this morning shortly after 7 a.m. - that's when I found this web site. I did call and add my direct line and incoming general line to their block list. I hope it works. He was on the verge of becoming rude when he would say "this is JL and I'm STILL trying to reach you. Please call me".Received a call from this number this afternoon. Just for the record this is the second time. The first was a month ago and I thought I had the problem resolved. Guess I didn't. They were supposed to have taken me off their list. Guess they didn't. Go figure. Is this a type of harassment?ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-26122684455296413102011-08-06T06:59:00.000-07:002011-08-06T06:59:42.841-07:00646-837-5596646-837-5596
Have had several calls from this number. No one ever says anything when I answer. Picked up by answering machine a few times, but they leave no message, just several seconds of nothing.we've been getting sooo many calls from them. sounds like a machine calling, making beep-tones. super annoying. tried calling them back, nothing happened. not even a ring tone.
just tried the removal number given a few entries above. hope it works.Have recieved several calls and recorded messages. Who are these people? I called the 800# they left in their recording and told them to remove me from their list, I am not listed!!I got a call from this number earlier and it turned out to be a recording for Macy*s about my account, and gave me an 800 number to call back about it.I've gotten tons of messages from this number so I called back the 800 number they left. URGENT information regarding my Macy's account but first I had to give them my account # and SS# and all of my personal information...I don't think so.I got several calls from these guys today with them only transmitting beeps. I called them back and couldn't find out what the company is but got a recording.I have had this call several times. They say something about my rating on the internet and how poor the coments are about my business, I am not listed on the internet. I have no idea what they are selling and don't care.ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508066136841903082.post-27464613178226601222011-08-06T06:55:00.001-07:002011-08-06T06:55:41.685-07:00866-847-1251866-847-1251
Seems in my area, this is the number the blood bank is calling from. HE REALLY NEEDS BLOOD... or something like that.
I gave blood about 3 months ago and they say you can give every 57 (?) days. That's about when these calls started. This number called my home at 7 AM! I tried calling it back and it just said it was a voice message system and to hang up because they will be calling back another time. How is this legal; they don't even say who they are! I am sick of all these weird numbers calling my home..I agree, they are extremely annoying. I just got my first call from them today and I fully intend on researching this and finding out the legal paramiters and will keep all of you posted. This is not called for and has to come to an end.Got a call from this # on my cell phone while working today. I answered too late and then received a voicemail about esxpired baby formula being sold at a local grocery store. I just wasted a precious any-time minute (which my carrier charges me quite a bit for) on something that has no value to me and is not even pertinent to anything I am or will be doing. I tried to call the number back to have them take me off the list and all I get is a busy signal. There goes another any-time minute. FRUSTRATING. Is there anything else I can do- besides writing a snail mail letter that has no 'audit trail'?ffgff667gfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501168317800510166noreply@blogger.com0
